Spain Remains FIFA's Best Men's Team; US Plunges To 38th


Germany (second) and Uruguay (third) traded spots from the July poll, England rose two spots to fourth, while Portugal (tenth last month) and Italy (ranked 12th) surged to fifth and sixth, respectively, followed by Argentina holding firm to seventh, the Netherlands dropping four spots to eighth, and Croatia and Denmark, eighth and ninth last month, fell to ninth and tenth, respectively.

Brazil dropped six spots to fall out of the top ten and settle in 11th.

The US Men's National Team, despite opening the next round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a 3-1 win June 8 in Tampa against Antigua & Barbuda and a 1-1 draw to Guatemala in Guatemala June 13, tumbled eight spots to 38th in the world.

The US' next scheduled match is a friendly in Mexico August 15, a week after the next FIFA monthly poll is released,]]>
